Website case study
The Cheshire Business Hub website
A website project bringing local businesses, places and opportunities to advertise together in one Chester and Cheshire guide.
The project
Helping people discover local businesses
The Cheshire Business Hub brings independent businesses, places to eat, shops, accommodation and things to do into one local guide. The website needed to serve two audiences: residents and visitors looking for ideas, and businesses looking for a way to be seen.
What the website does
- Organises listings into clear categories, including local businesses, food and drink, shopping, health and beauty, hotels and things to do.
- Highlights selected places and businesses on the homepage, with links to individual listings.
- Provides a dedicated directory, an advertising page, contact information and a blog.
- Connects visitors with The Cheshire Business Hub’s Facebook and Instagram channels.
The approach
The homepage introduces the local guide and gives visitors direct routes into the main categories. Individual listing pages provide space to learn about a business or attraction, while the advertising and contact pages give business owners a clear next step.
The result
A live, browsable local directory that people can use to explore Cheshire and Chester businesses and attractions. This example shows the site’s structure and features; traffic, ranking and enquiry results are not claimed here.

Applying the structure to your business
A directory needs categories and individual listings, while a service business may need a smaller set of detailed service pages. The useful principle is the same: organise information around what the visitor needs to decide and provide a clear next step.
